Even the most barbaric of warriors can be wounded in the heat of battle. Enter: crutches. Just as for humans, they allow your Minifigure warriors to maintain their mobility while telling the rest of the world, "I may be hobbled, but the other guy is DEAD." Or at least that's what this wounded gladiator told us... Anyway, the crutches come in pairs of two (black, brown, or white), because giving you just one would be cruel and unusual punishment.
