Argh Matey! I just needed to get that obligatory pirate greeting out of the way, because the Custom LEGO Weapon of the Week is the Pirate Cutlass! What is a Pirate Cutlass you say? Think of it as a variation of the machete. Only this time, a pirate has it. To be fair, not all cutlass users were swashbuckling, peg-legged, parrot loving men. It was actually a very popular weapon for most people setting sail across the flat world in the Age of Sail (aka when all of Europe apparently got restless, hopped on ships, and claimed new lands). The cutlass was popular because it served many purposes- killing bad guys, cutting thick ropes, and slicing open new, exotic fruits (I don't actually know about that last one, but it sounds legit). If your minifigures are planning to set sail anytime soon, make sure they have this trusty weapon by their side!
