LEGO MOC of the Week - Agzincourt by Lordanthul
14th Jan 2016
In 1415 the Battle of Agincourt was fought between the Kingdoms of England and France. And just over 600 years later we get this amazing MOC by Lordanthul, based on that battle. Taking place during what would become known as the Hundred Years' War, the Battle of Agincourt was an English victory, led by Henry V. In fact this battle was the centerpiece of the play, Henry V by Shakespeare.
Azincourt was the French town where the battle was fought, but English speakers found it easier to call it Agincourt, so for English-speaking purposes only, that is what it is called.
MOC builder, Lordanthul decided to honor both spellings by calling it Agzincourt. In this scene Lordanthul depicts a single longbowman on the right fending off a fully armored French Knight. In the actual battle, the English were able to achieve victory despite being outnumbered, so this MOC is an accurate depiction of the great odds the English had to overcome.
Lordanthul is at it again with his great customization of LEGO and BrickWarriors pieces. The Englishman is armed with a Dirk and a Buckler Shield. The French Knight is wearing a Pig Snout Helmet and holding an Arming Sword. The longbowman clearly has some good aim as shown by the Arrow Halves sticking out of a dying animal and the Frenchman's shield.
