LEGO MOC of the Week - Alexander The Great by Hunter Erickson
19th May 2016
For the 3rd time in 5 weeks Hunter Erickson is the creator our featured MOC of the week. And once again he has created a scene based on an actual battle from history. As you can tell by the title, this MOC highlights the amazing career of Alexander the Great, who you can see in minifigure form at the center of this battle on horseback.
In this particular battle, the Battle of Hydaspes, Alexander led the Macedonian army to a decisive victory over King Porus of the Paurava kingdom (ancient India). Hunter has accurately portrayed the presence of war elephants at the battle.
Here is Hunter's description of the titular character:
Alexander the Great was one of the greatest generals in military history. You can say he was vain, brilliant, arrogant, lucky, an alcoholic, a fool, etc. Its debatable if he was any of these, but in his whole military career one this is certain
He was undefeated.
One member of the Macedonian army is wearing a steel BrickWarriors Spartan Helmet with a Plume and carrying a Spartan Sword. The minifigure is near the back left corner of this scene. There are two soldiers armed with the BrickWarriors Dervish Blade , including the minifigure with a white head wrap in the back left corner.
