On this day 67 years ago...

Apparently not a whole lot happened! It is alleged, however, that the Soviets downed an American plane in an unprovoked attack. If so, this would have taken place only three or so years into the start of the Cold War. The Cold War was, of course, not a war at all, but several decades of geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union and the United States and its allies. We hope the picture makes up for our lack of historical narrative!
