These helmets are fantastic: in steel they make a convincing light metal helmet for archers or light cavalry. In tan they can be used as a leather cap for skirmishers or archers. I bet tan with a hand-painted "metal" ring would be perfect. Anyway, highly recommended!
I know nothing about historic tank headwear, but this is a great piece for my fantasy Arabian figures, as well as a nice cap for my post-apoc scavenger crews or sci=-fi starship techs.
