The name for this piece of armor is derived from the way the plates are attached together in a way reminiscent of the shell of a lobster. It is a very popular choice amongst your more ancient LEGO® minifigures.

I have a large collection of fantasy figs, but not necessarily with a Grecian theme. This armor looks good for any fantasy time period or cultural background, really, so several suits have found their way into my collection. It's great that this armor is often less expensive on the site than similar suit, as well.
I bought this armor before the Lorica Segmenta armor was available. While the other armor may be historically more accurate for a Roman solider this armor still looks great and the lack of large shoulder plates allows the minifg greater range of motion in their arms. Overall a great piece of armor to add to your collection.
